Legally Compliant Results

The UK does not have a regulatory body that observes the drug and alcohol testing industry. There is however some guidance provided by the government and there are best practices already established amongst certain industry’s such as transport and healthcare. Standards do vary across the board and we believe that all tests are conducted in a ethical and compliant manner that will be legally upheld in court.

All of our operations and processes are designed to meet and go beyond the standards set by government guidelines and industry accreditation’s. These standards include:

1. Expert toxicologist for interpretation of drug tests
2. Professional explanation of the test procedure, sample collection and results
3. Reports and statements that can be used as evidence in court, military adjudications and industrial tribunals
4. A strict chain of custody is adhered too so that tampering can not be disputed
5. An Expert witness can be provided for court appearances or part of an investigation

Comprehensive Test Results

We tailor the results to each organisations guidelines, protocols and requirements. We create reports that are easy to understand but also provide technical information that allows you to understand the testing process and results. Each result includes a report or what type of substance was used, when it was used and how much.

Medical Review Officer Provision Service

Once your employee or potential employee takes a drug test, the results are not always black and white – or positive and negative. We help you interpret the results, build a detailed picture that tells you what substance was used, assess the implications in terms of employment, health and safety laws in addition to opportunities for counseling and rehabilitation for your employee. Importantly, sometimes an employee may think that any current medication that they have taken has conflicted with the results and provided a false positive, if this were the case then a medical review officer can be provided to mediate and review the dispute.

Independent Medical Review

Our independent medical review service can provide a second opinion from expert medical practitioners. They can provide your company with a impartial and confidential review of positive results.

This is particularly important because each situation is unique. For example, if an employee fails a drug test and is subsequently fired, but has a prescription for the drug they’ve tested positive for then the individual can take the employer to court.

A medical review officer is qualified to review results in contrast to the individual’s medical history, diet and other relevant information. The medical review officer protects the interests of both the individual and the company from any incorrect results. This relieves both the individual and the organisations of legitimate concerns over drug and alcohol testing and many companies feel reassured by having access to this service.
