Urine Drug Testing for the Workplace

Drug testing minimizes the risk for both the company and their employees. There are many reasons an employer might choose to drug test their employee or potential employee including:
• Pre-employment
• Post-accident drug testing
• Safety-related reasons
• Random drug-testing to prevent drug use while on the job

While there are alternative drug testing methods, urine testing has proven to be a cost effective option for many organisations.

Types of Urine Testing Methods

There are two urine-testing methods for employers to choose from:

The first option is for the employer to have every test sent directly to the laboratory for evaluation. We use a fully accredited Laboratory and only Laboratory results which have followed a strict chain of custody can be fully defensible in Court

The Alternative Second Option is to use Onsite Instant detection tests with any positive results being sent to the Laboratory for More Accurate and Legally defensible Confirmation. This is a more cost-effective method as only Positive results are required to be sent to the Laboratory.

Here’s a more detailed overview of each Option:

Option 1) Samples Sent Direct to the Laboratory

Step 1. A sample is collected by one of our trained sample collectors. Each sample is collected using Chain of Custody Protocols.
Step 2. The samples are sealed and barcoded and sent straight to the laboratory where a highly accurate initial screening test is performed.
Step 3. The Screening test is carried out in a (fully accredited)! Laboratory and provides a result which is far more accurate than a instant screening test. Importantly, a Laboratory result is the only type that can fully be upheld in court.
Step 4. A full laboratory report is issued detailing the findings showing the exact substances used and in what quantity.
Step 5. We can assist with delivering positive results to your employees and also provide advice and further assistance with disciplinary action procedures and any legal disputes.

Option 2:) Onsite Testing Kit with Laboratory Confirmation

Step 1. A sample is collected using a instant screening test. All samples are collected under strict protocols.
Step 2. The result of the test can be instantly determined.
Step 3. If the result of the test is Positive, then the sample is transferred to a container which is sealed and barcoded, and then sent to a (fully accredited laboratory)!
Step 4. A Laboratory result will be provided that will confirm the positive result and a result from a fully accredited Laboratory can be fully defensible in Court.
Step 5. Further aftercare assistance can be provided with delivering results, disciplinary procedures and legal support.

Depending on your budget you might prefer a more affordable option and opt for the onsite instant screening test with only the positive results being sent off for laboratory confirmation. Or to guarantee the most accurate results the Laboratory Screening option might better suit your needs.
